Small Claims Court falls under the monetary jurisdiction of the Courts of Justice Act. When you engage the legal system by taking someone to small claims court, you have the right to sue for money or the return of personal property worth up to $25,000. This does not include interest and costs related to going to court. Any claims above $25,000 must be filed with the Superior Court of Justice.
